Dip till you Drop Carmel


 

When deciding what kind of board we wanted to do for St. Patricks day I wanted everything to stay green and it wasn't hard when we decided carmel would be the staple because there are so many green foods (plus others) to dip into this fabulous home made carmel with just four ingredients.
This Dip till you Drop Carmel has been a staple in my family since I can remember! My mom would always invite other friends and family over and we would literally 'dip till we dropped' and had so much fun! Once I started cooking a little more, carmel always made me nervous because you can over cook it (which I have done) but this recipe is so simple and easy and would be hard to mess up. I promise you will love it, its truly the best carmel out there! Carmel Recipe: 
2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup white karo syrup 
1/2 pound butter or margarine
1 can Eagle Brand milk
Combine all ingredients in a stainless steel sauce pan. Cook until it forms a soft, but firm ball. Pour into buttered pan or bowl.
Our favorites to dip are crisp green apples, bananas, pears, nuts, pretzels and marshmallows with white chocolate or dark chocolate and cinnamon. ENJOY!
