The Heritage Collection

Honoring Heritage Through the Hands of the Women who have gone before me.

From the beginning of time, men and women have gathered.

They’ve gathered food, gathered stories, gathered strength.

Around fires, around tables, around one another — always gathering something good.

This blog is a tribute to that legacy — a celebration of heritage, womanhood, and the simple, sacred act of coming together.

Recently, we gathered at This Is The Place Heritage Park — a space rich with pioneer history and deeply connected to my own family roots. Surrounded by the warm textures of the land and heritage homes, we photographed women from my own family. We laid out fine china passed down from my great-grandmother, and roses placed with care to honor her memory. Her middle name was Rose — a name I now carry, a thread woven quietly but firmly through generations. Including many of her daughters (my grandmothers) baskets.

It was there, in the middle of it all, that we introduced a new piece — the Heritage Board.

This board is the heart of this story.

Crafted from high-end maple wood, it’s thicker than any board we’ve made before — inspired by the strength of butcher block, yet refined in its design. It’s built to be used every day — just like the women who inspire it.

You can chop herbs on it.

Slice ripe summer tomatoes.

Cube cheese, carve a roast, cut into crusty bread.

You can lay out fresh berries, warm pastries, or watermelon slices in July.

And the more you use it, the more it becomes yours — worn in with love and character, like a used rolling pin or an old recipe card stained from decades of dinners. Every scratch and groove tells a story: a meal shared, a celebration marked, a Tuesday night made special.

At The Harvest Board, we believe in creating pieces that last — not just physically, but emotionally. Our boards are meant to gather around. To serve and be served. To sit in the middle of your life, quiet but essential.

This new board — thicker, stronger, built to be passed down — reminded me of the women who came before. Women like my great-grandmother who served off fine china and raised strong daughters. Women who fed their families, hosted neighbors, and found joy in the ordinary. Women who made space at the table.

The Heritage Board was made with them in mind — and with you in mind too.

As you chop and plate and serve, may you feel the strength of those who came before you. May your home be filled with the sounds and scents of good things gathering. May your hands continue the work of building connection, bite by bite, moment by moment.

So today, and always, we invite you to gather something good.

Around your table.

Around your people.

Around the traditions that ground you.

With love,

Courtney
